Windows Procuct Key - which is the right one?

Hi, in the article You Can Still Get Windows 10 for Free With a Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 Key from today’s newsletter there is a reference to an older article How to Find Your Lost Windows or Office Product Keys. As I want to install Windows 10 on my Windows 8.1 laptop that’s exactly what I need.
So I downloaded the NirSoft ProduKey program, ran it, then installed the vbs-script mentioned in the same article, ran it and - surprise: I get 2 totally different product keys. That’s not so nice. I would like to know which is the right one - before I start the fresh install of Windows 10. Could anybody check this? Thanks, Titus

I’ve asked @geek to remove the vbs-script method from that article, since it only works with Windows 7.

Produkey is the correct key. The vbs-script method does not work on Windows 10.

Hi.
If you want another option for the Windows Product Key, just download the Microsoft Toolkit. Once done, run the tool, click on Windows logo on the bottom right and click on the green option EZ-Activator in the top of the tool’s window.
