I love MFT readers like SwiftSearch. The security issue is funny to me. So many apps SAY they protect your files... but I have used MFT readers not only to find and view files that Windows will not allow access too... but to copy, move, delete them also. I find these kinds of apps an absolute necessity (for example you download a file and the site doesn't offer nor tell you where it went (a 5 second SwiftSearch > sort by creation date = wll show you the file regardless of where it was written whether that was a hidden or inaccessable diretory to you or not, and regardless of its name. This also lets you know any files being written to your drive by any application (personally I check once in a while to keep software honest, and have found out culprits I uninstalled because of it) I want to know what's on my drive, being written to my drive, when and by what, and I decide not Windows nor any other developer.
So the security issue is 'both ways' gives you security as I mentioned but also if accessed by dangerous software, can easily delete most files bypassing most all Windows prevention methods. Personally I've been usng this kind of software so long, I am surprised this hasn't been a major issue already.
