It’s 2014, shouldn’t we stop worrying about disk space? Nope, not at all! A modern MacBook might have a solid-state drive with just 64 GB of space. You’ll want as much space for your important data as you can get.
Another great option is using removing the universal binary files that have stuck around to allow support for the Power PC chipset. I have an older version of the Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection that ended up giving me back a gig or so worth of data.
CleanMyMac2 is a great for cleaning up those files and lots more.
