You know, if you've watched the movie Cars (2006), you'll realise that all old cars wear white tires. So, obvious for me.

My dad bought a 1906 Baker Electric Runabout in the late 60's pushing it off the trailer into storage the white tires disintegrated leaving bubble gum colored inner tubes

Carbon black was later added to tire rubber to delay that disintegration.
