CES, the annual Consumer Electronics Show, is happening right now in Vegas, and How-To Geek has boots on the ground. The Pebble Smartwatch has launched a new version made from stainless steel instead of plastic. It’s stylish, sturdy, and does everything the old version did.

I love the look of the Pebble Steel, and I'm so glad I didn't buy the original plastic version in December. It looks so much more classy and discrete - unlike the original which just screamed "plastic" and to some extent, "nerd".
That said, a $100 bump in price for what is essentially the original Pebble with a steel casing, double the memory, and a RGB led is a bit much IMO. I'll probably end up buying one anyway when it goes on sale. But, the original Pebble really did do what it was designed to do exceptionally well - unlike a certain Samsung watch which tried to do everything, but did nothing well.

Agreed. This one is impressive looking - I put in an order for one already.
Will post more details once we get a hands-on demo of the thing, but based on the plastic Pebble, which we really like here at HTG (3 of our writers have them), this one should be the same but much nicer looking.

Oh I wasn't aware you could order them already. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah, they won't ship for a couple weeks though.
