Everywhere you turn, somebody is coming out with a new Bluetooth speaker with a “fun” design — shaped like animals, cones, or even old-timey radios. So are there any Bluetooth speakers that don’t suck? We reviewed the upcoming Braven BRV-X speaker, and it was pretty good, if a little pricey.

I have been wondering when Bluetooth speakers were going to get the ability to 1. Receive by channel (left, right, more) and 2. Support multiple speakers so that you can separate them, allowing more of a stereo effect. Hopefully at some point we will be able to assign the channels to the point we can achieve a 5.1 surround effect, or something close to it.
I use the Bose Bluetooth SoundLink, and while it is stereo, the speakers are so close together that you lose the stereo effect. The ability to utilize 2 Bluetooth speakers, both paired to the same source and one on each channel, and separated, would produce a better stereo effect.
