A Windows, Linux, or Mac password just prevents people from logging into your operating system. It doesn’t prevent people from booting other operating systems, wiping your drive, or using a live CD to access your files.

If you're taking the CMOS battery out to reset it you probably don't want to be short circuiting it by touching both sides like the guy in the last photo you used

Unless your hands are wet or something, the resistance in your fingers would only let a few milliamps travel through your body. True, it's not the best idea to touch both sides of any electrical circuit, but at the 3 volts a lithium cell puts out, you're not going to even feel it, let alone damage yourself or the battery.
