Want to reset your web browser to its default settings? You can’t necessarily just uninstall it — your personal files will stay on your computer. And if your browser is Internet Explorer, it can’t be uninstalled at all.

When the browser has been hijacked reseting the web browser can be the most effective way to ending the hijack. These hijacks are not necessarily viruses or trojans or malware, so use of antiviurs or antimalware programs may not be effective in getting rid of the hijack. Reseting your computer browser to default is the quickest way to repairing the computer after the browser has been hijacked.

You said that you cannot remove IE, this is wrong. I have totally removed IE from all my Microsoft computers. This is not a process for beginners to undertake as it requires hacking the registry and the Windows folder as well.
