iTunes isn’t an amazing program on Windows. There was a time when Apple device users had to plug their devices into their PCs or Macs and use iTunes for device activation, updates, and syncing, but iTunes is no longer necessary.

But seriously, I'd like something like that. I don't mind iTunes, and I won't mind droidTunes.

MediaMonkey baby! I use Google Music on my iPad for cloud music and cannot be bothered with all the $$$ solutions Apple offers.

Another MediaMonkey user. I don't know what the options are for Mac, but on a PC you absolutely don't have to use Itunes to sync music.

what about the contacts app that comes with ipad. I didnt see that mentioned for backup
and personal data and settings in other apps (like a location or username) are those data automatically transferred from one ipad to a new one??

I don't even get my music from ITunes, so I don't it use other than for syncing my music to my IPod. I'll probably be switching to Media Monkey in the near future.
