I noticed that you mentioned lapis has pretty much no use either than dying objects (decoration) and block (decoration).. Why, at the moment, this is true, you may want to add that in the future (after the release of 1.8) lapis will be necessary for enchanting.
Another thing, a slight error, is that you mentioned you need 30 iron ingots to craft an anvil. You actually need 31: 3 blocks (9 each, 27 total) plus 4 ingots.

I learned something interesting, I had no idea that Emeralds are more rare than Diamonds because I had found five before finding my first Diamond. I also had no idea that they're only found naturally in Extreme Hills, which is where I spawned.

Ya beat me to it! I was going to say that too. Plus considering this is about enchanting and mining, it might be a good thing.
